Event Highlights

  • Meet the Re-enactors – Experience history first-hand as you meet re-enactors dressed in authentic World War II uniforms. These passionate historians bring the past to life, sharing stories and insights about the lives of those who fought on D-Day.
  • Firing Demonstrations – Witness live firing demonstrations that showcase the powerful weaponry used during World War II. These demonstrations offer a thrilling and educational glimpse into the combat techniques of the era.
  • Crocodile Tank and D-Day Vehicles – See the impressive Crocodile Tank and other military vehicles that played crucial roles in the D-Day landings. These historical machines are a testament to the engineering and innovation of the time.

  • Piper Bill: Hear the story of Piper Bill, the lone piper who played ‘Highland Laddie’, ‘The Road to the Isles’, and ‘All the Blue Bonnets Are over the Border’ on Gold Beach on D-Day.

Unique Exhibits

  • Crocodile Tank: Witness the ‘Crocodile’ Mark IV Churchill tank, under restoration at Eden Camp. Designed by Major General Percy Hobart for the Normandy Landings, these tanks were vital in establishing and holding beachheads.
  • D-Day Map Plotting Machine: See one of the only surviving D-Day map plotting machines. This Wild Autograph Model A5 – No.54 was essential in creating the detailed maps and charts used by military strategists.
  • D-Day Code Cracker: Join Eden Camp’s Ultra intelligence team to take part in our code cracker trail around the museum. Crack the code and win a prize!
