St Martin’s Primary in Fangfoss named among nation’s best

St Martin’s CE Primary School in Fangfoss has been named as one of the best primary schools in the country, by The Telegraph.

The Telegraph ranked more than 15,000 state primary schools in England according to nine separate criteria – to provide a score out of 40 designed to measure key academic, behavioural, and organisational performance.

St Martin’s in Fangfoss was one of only 12 schools across the country to score the maximum 40.

Laura Fannon, Interim Headteacher at St Martin’s CE Primary School said: “We are delighted that our school has been ranked as one of the very best in the country. It is wonderful that St. Martin’s has been independently recognised as such a special place for children to learn and flourish. We are so proud of our pupils, our dedicated staff team and all of our school community who work to make St. Martin’s such a remarkable school.”

Councillor Victoria Aitken, cabinet member for children, families and education said: “Well done to St Martin’s – what an accolade for the whole school community at Fangfoss.

“We want all of our children to be in exceptional schools, and I’m pleased to report that over 92 percent of our primaries are rated as Good or above by Ofsted.”
