Sewerby Hall gardens and zoo are hosting a variety of exciting events and activities for the whole family during the summer holidays. This includes puppet shows, magic and face painting, immersive story telling adventures, and weekly Wildcats activities.
Sewerby Hall will celebrate Yorkshire Day on Friday 1 August. There will also be a family fun day with bouncy slides and bubbles on Sunday 3 August, followed by zoo activities, and Car club gatherings on Sunday 6 July, Sunday 10 and 17 August. Additionally, the ICONIC BRICKS Pirates! Exhibition will launch on Friday 22 August.
The summer of fun at Sewerby Hall kicks off with Rusticus: Carnival Time on Saturday 19 July, and then continues every Saturday throughout the holidays Saturday throughout the holidays, this is an interactive adventure, with have-a-go circus activities. Rusticus will also provide a Smuggler Cove adventure every Monday from 21 July, a Dr Dolittle woodland creatures theatre every Tuesday from 22 July, and a Sea Spells adventure every from Thursday 24 July.
The Coco the Bunny puppet show will be held every Sunday from 20 July, while magic shows, giant bubble displays and face paintings will occur every Wednesday from 23 July.
The Wildcats programme, for families, will provide activities every Friday from Friday 25 July, including Yorkshire Day celebrations and a treasure island themed day.
There will also be car club meets for East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club on Sunday 6 July, and for Morris Minor owners on Sunday 17 August. Additionally, the Yorkshire Morgan Sports Car club has invited it members to take part in a scenic car tour of East Yorkshire on Sunday 10 August.
There will be sessions with the animals at Sewerby Zoo, with a Meet the hoof stock sessions with donkeys, llamas and goats, and an opportunity to make ‘fruit kebabs’ to be fed to the animals. There will be daily animal feeding at Sewerby Zoo, the lemurs at 2pm, the coatis at 2:25pm, the penguins at 3pm, and the hoof stock at 3:30pm each day.
Sewerby Hall will also mark ‘Bridmas Day’ on Wednesday 6 August, bringing festive fun to the height of summer, while from Friday 22 August the ICONIC BRICKS Pirates! Exhibition will display 12 life-sized models, featuring Captain Blackbrick with some of his shipmates, a Cannon and the Ships Wheel. On Saturday 30 August there will be a ‘pirate party’ with music, disco lights, magic, games, treasure and fun.
