East Yorkshire Buses have announced three brand-new buses will be introduced to the X45 route between Market Weighton and York later this year. These vehicles will replace older buses that were originally used to launch the service.
At the end of April, the X45 will be extended beyond Market Weighton to Driffield, replacing the 145 service. This extension is delivered with financial support from East Riding of Yorkshire Council, funded by the UK Government. The change will create a direct and easy-to-understand route from York to Driffield, improving accessibility and simplifying journeys for thousands of passengers.
The X45, alongside services X46 and X47, now provides three buses per hour between Market Weighton, Pocklington and York. This enhancement also means the service now offers the most frequent daytime fully stopping bus service along the entire length of the Hull Road corridor into York.
Stuart Fillingham, Commercial and Operations Director at East Yorkshire Buses, said: “The remarkable 24.4% growth of the X45 reflects the demand for reliable, well-planned bus services. The introduction of new vehicles later in the year and the extension to Driffield will make the route even more attractive to passengers.”
