East Riding Libraries have launched a county-wide treasure hunt to win tickets to Mikron Theatre’s ‘Top of the Wold’ play.
A ‘travelling bookcase’ sculpture, based on work by Yorkshire artist Adrian Riley, will pop up in locations and give out free tickets to ‘Top of the Wold’ for whoever is lucky enough to find it first.
Hints as to the sculpture’s location will be posted on East Riding Libraries Facebook and Instagram pages.
Touring nationally from Friday, 27 March, the play follows four actor-musicians as the mobile library dives into chapters that teem with the lives of then and now. From Bempton to Bridlington, Hornsea to Howden, the play explores a region barely noticed by the nation it feeds and eroded by the pounding North Sea.
Hayley Clark, Arts in Libraries officer said:
“We’re so excited for Top of the Wold to premier in the East Riding at the end of March, and this treasure hunt felt like the perfect way for us to countdown to opening night!
“The hunt will be giving away tickets to various venues across the county, so everyone will be in with a chance of attending a showing close to them.”
