East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s private sector housing enforcement team in hosting a free seminar for local landlords and agents on the impact of the Renters’ Rights Act.
The event in Beverley on Wednesday 8 October will feature Paul Shamplina, founder of Landlord Action and star of Channel 5 hit TV series ‘Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords.’
Paul has been educating landlords and letting agents for over 30 years and will update on the impact of the upcoming Renters’ Rights Act, compliance, investment, and understanding the complexity of property management.
Additional speakers will cover enforcement expectations, damp and mould investigations, selecting competent contractors, eco4, and preparing for the new legislation.
Agents and landlords will be also invited to sign up to an initiative in the local private rented housing sector to counter damp and mould.
Councillor Lynn Healing, East Riding of Yorkshire Council cabinet member for public protection, said: “It is essential that landlords exercise responsible property management, and we’re keen to support them to adapt to changing legislation.
“I encourage interested landlords to apply for tickets and attend this event next month.”
Places are limited and available on a first come first serve basis.
