The much-loved Driffield Dickensian Christmas is back this year, promising a fun-filled festive evening for all the family on Friday 28th November. The town centre will be transformed into a magical winter wonderland, brimming with Christmas cheer, music, and entertainment inspired by the charm of Dickensian times.
The event will feature a Christmas Market with over 30 stalls, showcasing festive treats, crafts, gifts, and plenty of delicious food. Many of Driffield’s fabulous independent local businesses will also be opening their doors for late-night shopping, making it the perfect time to find those special Christmas gifts.
Children will be thrilled to know that Father Christmas will be making a special appearance, greeting youngsters in his grotto at Kiplingcotes Furniture before heading back to Lapland later in the evening.
There’s plenty of entertainment lined up, hosted by Great Driffield Radio, including performances by Makara Morris Dancers, the Driffield Junior School Choir, and the uplifting harmonies of the All for One Choir.
Keep an eye out for Mrs Fuzziwig, Mr Figgy Pudding, Scrooge, and the Ghost of Jacob Marley from the Rusticus Theatre Company, who will be roaming the town centre bringing festive fun and laughter to the streets.
You’ll also find a traditional fun fair, fast food stalls, and free face painting provided by Julie-Marie.
The highlight of the evening will be the Christmas Tree and Plaza of Light switch-on at 7:00 pm, when the town centre will sparkle into life with festive lights and music.
