At the recent Annual General Meeting, Mr Chris Morris was elected as the Honorary President of the Driffield Agricultural Society. A dedicated member for many years, Chris has consistently supported the Showground Team in various capacities, demonstrating his commitment through volunteer work that enhances the team’s initiatives.
He received his chains of office from the outgoing President, Mr Chris Byass. Remarkably, Chris has only missed three Driffield Shows in his lifetime and served as Chief Steward of the Carcase Section for many years, playing a key role in its recent re-introduction. In his address to Society members and officials, Chris expressed that it was both an honour and a privilege to be elected to this position.
During the meeting, Mr Julian Cook was elected as the new Vice President, where he will assist Chris and support the Society’s ongoing initiatives. Mr George Hamilton and Mr Richard Dee were re-elected as Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively, for their second terms.
