Wednesday, 18 September is National Fitness Day, to celebrate East Riding of Yorkshire Council are offering current members the opportunity to ‘Bring a Friend for Free’ across all leisure centres.
This fantastic offer will run for one week from 18 – 24 September. Members are able to bring a friend or family member to enjoy the use of facilities including swimming, classes, gym and sports hall.
Being active can bring people together, it is also proven to positively impact our physical and mental health as well as our social wellbeing. To encourage participation in exercise and fitness, on 18 September East Riding Leisure will be showcasing a range of online classes, delivered by instructors on their social media channels.
East Riding Leisure are also running a competition to win a 3-month membership/payment holiday worth over £100.
This competition is open to all and to enter participants simply need comment their fitness journey, for example their stories or experiences, on any of the Fitness Day social media posts, using the hashtags #YourHealthIsForLife #FITNESSDAY by 18 September.
The winner will be randomly selected by 23 September.
Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s cabinet member for leisure and tourism, said: ‘’As the largest national celebration of fitness and health, we are hoping to see lots of participants make the most of this excellent opportunity.
‘’The event aims to inspire people of all backgrounds to get moving and embrace a more active lifestyle, including the life-long physical and mental benefits of exercise.’’
This offer can be used from 18 – 24 September only. The Friend/family member may join from 11 September to undertake a gym induction ready for using from 18 – 24 September. Online gym inductions are recommended, but in-person inductions will be available, with limited availability.
