Nine week road closure in Little Kelk

A scheme to improve the main road through the village of Little Kelk, near Driffield, is to begin on Monday 13th October.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council will invest £490,000 to upgrade the C22 road along Main Street, Little Kelk, between Gransmoor Lane and Moor Lane.

The project is scheduled to take nine weeks to complete, working during the daytime.

It will include the resurfacing of the road, strengthening the road edges, patching, improving surface water drainage and kerb replacements.

Some sections of footpath in Little Kelk will also be resurfaced.

During the scheme, the section of road being worked on will be closed to all through traffic, with a signed diversion route in place via Mill Lane, A614, Station Road, Moor Lane, Main Road, Gransmoor Road, A165 Lisset Lane, B1249 Main Street, Foston Lane and Old Howe Lane.

Access to properties within the working areas will be maintained.

The work will be carried out by the council’s own road maintenance team.
