Ward, 28, was accused of raping a woman after meeting her at a nightclub in Stratford, east London and then going to an afterparty in January 2023.
The actor denied two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault. He was found not guilty of all charges on Friday.
When asked during the trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court what he thought about the encounter, he said: “Everything we did was wholly consensual.”
He told the court he believed they were both “having a great time” and that they had a “mutual attraction”.
He said: “We engaged in consensual sex, had a great time and she was actively participating in what we were doing all the time.”
Ward is best known for playing London drug dealer Jamie in critically acclaimed series Netflix series Top Boy.
He was given BAFTA’s rising star award in 2020 and has appeared in several films including Blue Story and Sam Mendes’ film Empire of Light.
