Beverley's Festival of Christmas is returning for 2021 on Sunday 12th December, and we can't wait! Great Driffield Radio speaks to Councillor Jane Evison about the fact the event will be Covid safe, and the way in which East Riding of Yorkshire Council is managing this. East Riding Libraries have a Doodletoons Superhero Drawing Workshop with Bill Booth at the Hornsea Hub for kids aged 8 to 11 on Saturday morning! Find out more at www.festivalofwords.co.uk. There's also a Superhero Sunday in Beverley on 24th October, with another Superhero Workshop, make your own Superhero Poppit session and story time for the little ones! Driffield Navigation Trust has a gala event on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th September at North Frodingham Landing! It's free, and you'll be able to take a boat trip down Frodingham Beck to the Driffield Canal at a very reasonable cost. There's also live entertainment, BBQ and Great Driffield Radio will be broadcasting live from the event on both days. Have a listen to find out more.

Yorkshire Wolds Community Choir has an issue. A mouse ate their piano during lockdown! Luckily, they now have a new piano, but they do require choir members. They rehearse on Monday evenings in Hutton Cranswick and Tuesday evenings in Leconfield, and have so far raised over £17,000 for charity! There's no audition, and they only charge £2 a week for the weeks you can attend.

1.4 million workers over 50 are now saving less for their retirement compared to pre-pandemic times, creating a £5.2 million "pension hole". We find out more from Emma Bryon at Legal and General, who have put together a number of calculators to work out how much you might have in retirement based on your level of saving, plus a new podcast series to try & make the subject of pensions more accessible & fun.
