Police hunt driver after boy, 12, killed outside school

The driver of a Ford KA is being hunted by police after a 12-year-old boy was killed in a collision outside a school in Essex.

Officers were called just after 3.20pm to reports that a number of pedestrians had been involved in the collision.

Police have launched a murder investigation as they hunt for the driver who failed to stop at the scene.

Five other casualties were reported but none are believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

Those injured were two 15-year-old boys, a 13-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl and a 53-year-old woman.

Police said they believe all the teenagers were pupils at Debden Park High School on Wallingale Road.
