Witness appeal following fatal RTC York Road, Driffield

Humberside Police are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision yesterday (Thursday 8 July) on York Road, Driffield.

At 9:15pm police were called to reports that a yellow Renault Megane and a white Renault Captur had collided at the junction of York Road, Driffield and the B1249.

It is believed that white Renault Captur was travelling along York Road towards the junction for the B1249.

As the Renault Captur approached the junction, turning right in the direction of Langtoft, it collided with the Renault Megane which was travelling along the B1249.

Sadly, the driver of the Renault Captur died at the scene. The man’s family are now being supported by our specialist trained officers. Our thoughts are with the man’s loved one’s following the tragic incident.

The occupants of the Renault Megane, a man and woman, were also injured as a result of the collision. Both were taken to hospital to receive treatment for their injuries which are thankfully not thought to be serious.

Humberside Police are now appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity with dash cam footage, or who was travelling along York Road or the B1249 near to Langtoft at the time of collision, or moments prior, and saw the collision, to  call the non-emergency number 101 quoting log 607 of 8 July.
