Exciting Open Day at Driffield Fire Station planned this month

Driffield Fire Station is opening its doors to the community on Saturday, September 28th, from 11 AM to 3 PM, and the team can’t wait to welcome you! This special Open Day is packed with fun activities for the whole family, while also celebrating significant milestones: 50 years of Humberside Fire & Rescue Service, 60 years of Driffield Fire Station, and a 30-year partnership with the British Red Cross.

What to Expect

  • Emergency Vehicles on Display: Get up close and personal with a variety of emergency vehicles, including fire engines and police cars.
  • Cycle Security Tagging: Bring your bike along and get it security tagged for free!
  • Sponge Throw: Take aim at your favorite firefighter (or perhaps your least favorite!) with the classic sponge throw.
  • Fire Engine Tours: Ever wondered what it’s like inside a fire engine? Take a guided tour and discover all the tools and gadgets our firefighters use to keep us safe.

…and that’s just a glimpse of what’s in store! There will be many more activities to enjoy throughout the day, so be sure to bring along family and friends for an action-packed day out.

Supporting a Great Cause

While you’re having fun, you’ll also be supporting a fantastic cause. All donations and proceeds from the tombola, penalty kick, and other activities will go to the Fire Fighters Charity. This charity provides crucial support to our brave firefighters, ensuring they can continue their vital work in the community.

Special Guest Appearance

Don’t miss the chance to meet our special guest, Frankie Fire Dog! Frankie will be there to help with the activities and take part in the penalty kick challenge. Whether you’re 5 or 85, there’s something for everyone, so come along and enjoy a great day out while supporting your local fire station.
